JOB OBJECTIVE
The qualified Superintendent will have experience working in multiple construction sectors. The superintendent will oversee construction of the project in the field, providing leadership to field foremen, and ensure successful completion of trade work. The Superintendent will also work closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely and quality completion of construction process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist Estimating in bidding opportunities and Preconstruction services
2. Assist Project Manager in development of Chart of Accounts
3. Assist in development of detailed CPM Schedule
4. Assist in development of Detailed Scope of Work
5. Develop a project site logistics plan
6. Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents
7. Manage McCarthy’s labor force to achieve optimum performance
8. Review and understand material budgets and negotiate purchase orders
9. Review and understand equipment budgets and negotiate rental rates
10. Monitor project costs and identify areas for improvement
11. Provide leadership in quality process
12. Provide leadership in the safety and accident prevention programs
13. Document daily construction activities
14. Chair weekly subcontractor coordination meetings
15. Issue and maintain short term schedules
16. Assist Project Engineers in Shop Drawing and Submittal process
17. Verify that As-Built drawings are kept current
REQUIREMENTS
1. 8+ Years of Commercial Construction experience required
2. Experience with commercial projects including hotels, office buildings, etc. ranging in dollar value
3. Previous experience directing and coordinating trades
4. Knowledge of construction principles/practices required
5. Previous experience working with Project Management team including successful completion of project
